Doomsday Watch — E-4B Nightwatch & VIP fleet

Live OpenSky-fed tracker for the E-4B Nightwatch (the "Doomsday plane") plus US continuity-of-government and VIP airframes: Air Force One (AF1), Air Force Two (AF2), Special Air Mission (SAM###), RC-135 (OLYMP*/JAKE*), P-8 Poseidon (HOMER*), and E-6B Mercury (AMER* — TACAMO / nuclear command and control).

What we track

  • Live state vectors — OpenSky /states/all bounded to CONUS, polled every 5 minutes.
  • Callsign filter — NIGHTWATCH, NITEHK, AF1, AF2, SAM###, EXEC1F/EXEC2F (Marine One/Two), OLYMP*, JAKE*, HOMER*, AMER*. ICAO24 hex codes seen with a tracked callsign are added to a persistent fleet registry.
  • Per-flight telemetry — position, altitude, velocity, heading, squawk, on_ground state.

Why watch it

Activations of the E-4B and E-6B reflect strategic posture. SAM and AF flights map executive movement. Nightwatch in the air without a public reason is the single highest-signal indicator we track here.
